How our practice survived the pandemic!

Within only a few days after learning about COVID, like many, our business closed and, for a period of time to come afterward, we had no idea if and when we would open again, and what returning would look like.

We have been back at work just over a year and, fortunately have rebounded better than expected.  There is much to be grateful for and you better believe I do not take this for granted.

Reflecting on this past year, what  I believe kept our practice going strong (during COVID and beyond)  is  OUR TEAM. Without this fine group of practitioners and administrative staff, I can confidently say we would not be where we are at today.

Like many,  each of our team faced  challenges that they never imagined they would have to. The cancelling of a wedding, heartfelt passing of loved ones, closing  schools and the start of virtual teaching, social isolation and imposed distance from family – the list goes on and on.

Yet, through their own personal and family issues, fears of unknown about the future, everyone pulled together as a team and rose to the occasion well beyond any expectation I ever had!

The team showed their dedication and loyalty to our practice, patients and one another!  No questions asked, everyone was more than willing to work together, elevate one another and keep the business moving forward despite the financial unknowns we all faced. There were many hours we spent meeting regularly on zoom, coordinating schedules to do daily Facebook lives, keeping our newsletters going and communicating with our patients. Once we were closer to opening we began developing policy and procedures for work safety. Since opening, our team continues to give 110% to the office, each other, and, most importantly our patients! This dedication and loyalty has never wavered!

I have learned so very much from the practitioners and administrative staff I am fortunate enough to work with. So many of our patients who visit the office comment on “how nice the energy is” in our office.  This energy is due to the great practitioners and staff that work at Michigan Associates  of Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine!
